A poem for when sin overwhelms…

This poem started to come together as a result of a a couple of recent experiences. I did something I shouldn’t have done and immediately felt a strong desire to hide. How I identified with Adam and Eve in that moment! But hiding was not the answer – it was throwing myself into the arms of a merciful Father and confronting my sin. I started to pray, “I will not skulk in the dark, I will not hide…”

About a week later, the Lord revealed to me that there are many in the body of Christ in a similar state. We have lost authority to fight the darkness because of unrepentant sin. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way! Friend, if that’s you, I encourage you to come out of hiding and step into the Light.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9
