Happy Fall! + a Blog Update

Happy September Guys! This is my favorite season of the year. Here in New Jersey, we are beginning to feel the crispness in the air. It is full of promise. This is when the academic school year starts in my part of the world. (Notebooks and pens and folders, oh my!) As a former teacher and (school supply junkie), I see autumn as a season of new beginnings. Of high expectations and hard work. Of scarves and sweaters and boots. And apples and pumpkin spice. Need I say more?

In that spirit, I want to introduce you to some new features here on the blog:

  • Design: A new site icon + logo (if you look closely, you’ll see the ampersand has a heart on top and a brain on the bottom, which I just LOVE!) The feather from logo 1.0 is now part of my site icon.
  • Multiple languages: This is REALLY BIG!: Karina Speaks! can now be read in Spanish, French, Malayalam and Hindi. (You can find a little flag at the bottom of the page where you can change the language.) I’m so thrilled to expand our reach. We installed a program to do this, but the translations still need editing. I’m working on the Spanish and French translations and have family helping out with the Indian languages. This is a bit labor-intensive, so please bear with my team as we work out the kinks.
  • A new URL + social media handlewww.karinaspeaks.com and @karinaspeaksofficial for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (working on content)
  • Goodreads:  If you scroll all the way to the footer at the bottom of my blog – you’ll see my recently read list from Goodreads. (If you have an account, you can connect with me and also see what I’m currently reading and what’s on my wishlist. Just click the Goodreads button.)

That’s it for now! Do you get to enjoy the fall season where you live? I hope so!

  1. Fall is my favorite time of year too! Although we don’t really start to see it in NC until October. 🙁 Sometimes I miss being at Midd around this time of year.
